YEREVAN. – Considering the Ankara-Baku relations, it is highly unlikely that Turkey will ratify the Armenian-Turkish protocols.

The head of the Political Affairs Bureau and the Armenian Cause Office of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party, Giro Manoyan, stated the above-said at a press conference on Wednesday.

In his words, Armenia is ready to ratify these protocols the moment when Turkey will ratify them.

“We, the ARF, are against this approach; that is, to the protocols,” Manoyan noted. “Hence, we say that Armenia’s signature should be withdrawn from these protocols as soon as possible.”

The ARF official also expressed concern that Armenia could find itself in a hopeless situation because of these protocols.

“If all of a sudden Turkey, aiming to put Armenia in a tight spot, ratifies one of the protocols which does not impose deadlines for taking some steps, it will be difficult to explain to the world why we [i.e. Armenia] don’t ratify this document,” Giro Manoyan stressed. “The two protocols comprise a whole, and one [protocol] has no meaning and value without the other [protocol].”
