STEPANAKERT. - 278 polling stations, including one in the criminal-executive institution, opened their doors in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic today at 08:00. Another polling station is located at Representative Office of Nagorno-Karabakh in Yerevan. (photos)

Altogether, the Central Electoral Commission has established 10 electoral districts, one of them located in Armenia.  

Seven parties take part in the parliamentary elections by proportional representation system: ‘Free Homeland’ (50 members), ‘National Revival’ (14), Democratic Party of Artsakh (35 members), Nagorno-Karabakh Communist Party (14 members), ‘Peace and Development’ (6 members), ARF Dashanktsutyun (34 members) and ‘Movement-88’ (14 members).

By majority election system 50 citizens have been nominated, 27 of them by self-nomination. 3 candidates have been nominated by ARF Dashanktsutyuun, 4 by ‘Free Homeland’ party and Democratic Party of Artsakh, 5 by “National Revival” Party and 7 by “Movement-88.” 34 of the citizens nominated by majority election system are nonpartisan.  

The polling stations will close at 20:00 sharp.
