YEREVAN. - Cyprus is going to purchase biogas generators of Armenian production, President of Barva Innovation Research Center (Talin town of Armenia’s Aragatsotn Province) Aram Vardanyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am during the exhibition Made in Armenia. The exhibition, organized by Armenia’s Ministry of Economy, was held at Meridian Expo Center in Yerevan on April 26-28.

The burning capacity of one generator is 100 kWh, calorific output of the generated gas amounting to 10 MJ (38 MJ in case of methane). On the other hand, its prime cost is much lower than that of methane, as compared with both Armenian and European prices,   Vardanyan said.

“6 of such generators have already been ordered by Cyprus. Clients from Bulgaria are also interested in them,” he said.

The enterprise - located in Talin town - uses wheat straw as a raw material. “It’s almost impossible to use the straw as fodder, which actually means that the farmers don’t need it. And someone receives the straw and makes an exportable product out of it. I guess, we all benefit,” Vardanyan said.
