Thousands of Swiss bank accounts are discovered which were opened until 1955 and not used ever since, reported the Welt am Sonntag newspaper.

Pursuant to the new law, this year banks have to disclose information about bank accounts that were opened at least sixty years ago, but not used over the course of the past fifty years.

According to analysts, this “discovery” may help find the traces of the savings of the Nazis, who had transferred money to bank accounts until the end of World War II.

The newspaper also informed that at least one such suspicious bank account was found which a German had opened in 1940, and there are more than one thousand Swiss francs in this account.
