STEPANAKERT. – The Free Motherland Party is leading in the results of Sunday’s parliamentary election in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh).

The chairperson of the NKR Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Srbuhi Arzumanyan, stated the aforesaid at Monday’s press conference, as she presented the preliminary voting results.

In Arzumanyan’s words, a total of 68,915 voters cast their ballots in favor of the seven political parties that ran in this election. And according to preliminary results, five of these political forces have been voted into the NKR National Assembly.

These parties are: Free Motherland, National Revival, Democratic Party of Artsakh, Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party, and Movement 88.

A total of 110 observers from a variety of countries monitored Sunday’s parliamentary election in the NKR. Seven political parties ran for the country’s 33 parliamentary seats by the proportional system. In addition, fifty individuals, 27 of whom self-nominated, vied for the parliamentary mandates by the majority system.
