STEPANAKERT. – Several states in U.S. have recognized independence of Nagorno-Karabakh, representative of American mission Andreas Borgeas told reporters in Stepanakert.

“I already see gradual recognition of NKR, we can be proud that several states have already recognized Karabakh's independence,” said Borgeas who arrived as a member of observation mission.

Borgeas believes that situation at the line of contact will be tense every time Karabakh holds elections.

“This is how Azerbaijan will try to express its defiance of their so-called rights,” he added.

Asked whether they are not afraid of being included in “black list” of Azerbaijan, member of the U.S. observation mission Karen MacDonald said that she been in the list: “This is my second trip to Karabakh. We are professional researchers. I do not know why it seems to Azerbaijan that they can tell me how I should work.”
