YEREVAN. – Armenia will not impose taxes upon the country’s citizens who are migrant workers.

The Deputy Minister of Finance, Vakhtang Mirumyan, on Tuesday stated the aforesaid at the National Assembly, as he introduced the respective amendments to be made in the Law on Income Tax.

The relevant bill proposes to impose a 13-percent tax for the Armenian citizens working abroad, but solely for the contract workers; the non-contract workers will not be taxed.

Most Armenian citizen migrant workers travel to Russia, and they work either in construction, or the service sector. And the majority of them are already non-contract workers.
