YEREVAN. - IDeA Foundation’s 100 LIVES project announced a commitment of US $100,000 to UNICEF in support of the children affected by the Nepal earthquake.

The project is implemented within the framework of the humanitarian action Armenians for Nepal and has turned into an urge to Armenian organizations to follow suit and help UNICEF in this matter. 

 “The earthquake in Nepal has devastated lives and caused extensive damage to the country’s rich history. Our condolences go out to all of the people impacted by this terrible tragedy. It is in the spirit of 100 LIVES to offer help where there is human suffering.” Ruben Vardanyan, Co-Founder of 100 LIVES and IDeA said.

“Armenian people are well aware of the sorrow of such disasters and know how to appreciate the helping hand. We have always been thankful for all those who helped us during the devastating earthquake in 1988. The whole world is aiding the Nepalese people and we can’t but take part in it,” CEO of IDeA Foundation Armen Gevorgyan said.

100 LIVES seeks to express gratitude to those individuals and institutions which by courageous and heroic acts saved hundreds and thousand of Armenians during the Armenian Genocide 100 years ago. 

The initiators of 100 LIVES are the famous businessmen and humanists Ruben Vardanyan and Noubar Afeyan, as well as Vartan Gregorian, president of Carnegie Corporation of New York.
