YEREVAN. - At the first reading the Armenian Parliament passed a bill on new taxes to be imposed on seasonal workers. The bill received 65 votes in favor and 16 against, while 21 MPs abstained.

The bill on amendments to the Law on Income Tax proposes to impose an income tax of 13 per cent on Armenian citizens working abroad, but only on those citizens who work by contract. Citizens working without contract will not have tо make any additional payments.  

The bill can only be exercised with regard to those citizens who work in an Armenian company abroad for less than 183 days in a year.
