YEREVAN. – Armenia can attract tourists with brandy fairs, sociologist Aharon Adibekyan said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Adibekyan informed that even though he has already asked the country’s brandy factories and tourism companies to undertake such an initiative, no results have been achieved at this point.

“And now imagine how many tourists would come from the very same Russia when they learn about the fair,” the sociologist said.

Aharon Adibekyan added that he had also asked the Armenian community in Moscow to circulate this project among the Russian consumers. And the response was the holding of an Armenian brandy tasting in the Russian capital city.

“Subsequently, it will be possible to offer lot more to interested tourists; excursions to Armenia’s brandy factories,” the sociologist noted. “But no one is interested enough in the project to assume its funding.”
