YEREVAN. – Trans-Armenian highway North-South may be continued in Georgia and Iran, Deputy Economy Minister Garegin Melkonyan said during the parliamentary hearing on Friday. 

During the visit of the Asian Development Bank's delegation to Armenia last year, the sides discussed possibility of improving highway from the Armenian-Georgian border to Batumi. In particular, the pass near Khulo village, where the highway leading to Batumi port can be reduced by 170 kilometers.

Meanwhile, the Iranian side is building a highway from Julfa near the border.
