YEREVAN. – Armenia is trying to launch production of films by reforming existing laws and joining international development funds, Armenian Culture Minister Hasmik Poghosyan said.

“We will be able to speak about the achievements at the beginning of 2016,” Poghosyan said.

She pointed out “1915”movie that was released earlier this year without government's support as well as “Eclipse” by Armen Yernjakyan.

Overall, five moves, 12 documentaries and one animation film are being shot with government's support in 2015.

This year's Golden Apricot film festival will focus on the films dedicated to the Armenian Genocide, she added.

Another important initiative is the idea to shoot a film about famous writer Sergey Dovlatov.
