More than 80 percent of the orchards were damaged in the May 15 hailstorm in Rind village of Armenia’s Vayots Dzor Province, village mayor Husik Sahakyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“The commission examined the hail damage,” Sahakyan said. “Thirty percent of the vegetable crops and wheat fields are damaged, too.”
He added that it is not known at this time whether the village farmers will be compensated for this hailstorm damage.
