YEREVAN. - Armenia’s PM Hovik Abrahamyan received on Monday Jassim Mohammed Al Qasimi, the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Armenia, Armenian Government's Press Service reports. The PM congratulated Mr. Qasimi on the new appointment and expressed confidence that the Ambassador will give a new impetus to the further development and deepening of political and economic ties between Armenia and the UAE.
Hovik Abrahamyan attached importance to the activation of Armenian-UAE intergovernmental committee work, which will contribute to the strengthening and expansion of cooperation between the governments, as well as development of economic relations and establishment of close business ties.
The Ambassador Jassim Mohammed Al Qasimi said that his country attaches great importance to the development of relations with Armenia and the implementation of joint programs. According to the Ambassador, a number of UAE businessmen are interested in implementing investment programs in Armenia, and with that purpose currently discussions are being held on the matter in Armenia’s Ministry of Economy.
The interlocutors considered it important to deepen long-term cooperation in the field of agriculture, energy, IT, tourism, etc.
Armenia’s PM also found it important to expand the involvement of the UAE business sector in different branches of Armenia’s economy.
