YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, received newly appointed Polish Ambassador Jerzy Marek Nowakowski.

First, the PM congratulated the ambassador on his appointment, and wished him productive work. Abrahamyan appreciated the present-day level of Armenian-Polish interstate relations, and underscored the implementation of joint actions to develop economic cooperation.

Nowakowski, for his part, conveyed to the Armenian premier the warm greetings and best wishes by Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz. The ambassador highlighted the further deepening and expanding of Armenian-Polish relations. He informed that several Polish companies are interested in carrying out investment projects in Armenia, and exporting a variety of products from Armenia to Poland. At the same time, the diplomat stressed that Armenia may become the gateway whereby the Polish enterprises may enter the Eurasian Union market.

Reflecting on bilateral cooperation in the humanitarian domain, Ambassador Nowakowski noted that work is carried out toward opening an Armenian Studies center in the Jagiellonian University in Poland. 

Turning to regional issues, the interlocutors stressed the need for a peaceful resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Hovik Abrahamyan and Jerzy Marek Nowakowski also discussed several other matters of mutual interest.
