YEREVAN. – In 2014, the unemployment rate increased by 1.4 percentage point in Armenia, and made up 17.6 percent.

The aforesaid is noted in the macroeconomics section of the Ministry of Finance 2014 State Budget Execution Report, whose debates have begun in the parliament.

Accordingly, the average monthly wage in Armenia has increased by 8.3 percent in 2014, as compared to 2013, and totaled 171,300 drams (approx. $360); this includes the public sector salary growth by 9.0 percent and the private sector wage rise by 7.3 percent, and amounting to 151,500 (approx. $318) and 199,100 (approx. $417) drams, respectively.

The real wages (inflation calculated) have increased by 5.1 percent.
