Russian government has approved an agreement on free trade area between Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam.

The agreement provides for the tariff liberalization of trade in goods between the members of the Eurasian Union and Vietnam by reducing or zeroing import duties on most items. The parties retain tariff protection for some of the most sensitive commodity items.

The agreement has to be ratified by the parliaments, Lenta.ru reported.

The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia. Kyrgyzstan has joined the Union on May 21.
