YEREVAN. – The state debt of Armenia decreased by 20.3 percent in 2014. The above-said is noted in the macroeconomic indicators’ section of the Ministry of Finance 2014 State Budget Execution Report, whose debates have begun in the National Assembly committees on Monday.

Accordingly, as of December 31, 2014, the country’s foreign debt amounted to Armenian drams equivalent to US$ 3,785,200, or 39.7 percent of the GDP, against drams equivalent to $3,899,100, or 37 percent of the GDP, in 2013.

In the reporting year, Armenia’s external state debt service amounted to $266 million.

In addition, the net present value (NPV) of the country’s external state debt dropped from $3,740,800 in 2013 to $2,981,400 at the end of last year.

Furthermore, a reduction is recorded also in Armenia’s NPV/GDP ratio, from 35.9 percent in 2013 to 27.4 percent, and in the NPV/export indicator that has reached 90.5 percent in 2014 against the 136.8 percent in the previous year.
