YEREVAN. – Nearly two dozens of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun students' union protested against electricity price rise near the building of the Armenian government on Monday (photo).

Young people demanded that the authorities establish control over the expenses of nuclear power plant.

“We have no intention to pay for the luxury expenses of the NPP's leadership. They do not have an idea that 35 percent of Armenian residents live in poverty, and rise in electricity rate will further increase this indicator and will lead to a new wave of migration,” said Mesrop Yesayan, a member of Nikol Aghbalyan union.

The protesters were approached by representative of the Cabinet who promised that their letter will be handed over to the government.

The members of students' union will participate in the protect action against electricity price rise that is planned for Wednesday.
