YEREVAN. - The second echelon for protection from hail clouds is needed in Armenia’s Armavir province, along the border with Turkey, First Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations, announced today at the parliamentary hearings on state budget fulfillment for 2014.

Currently, 154 anti-hail stations in Armenia are installed by the government, roughly 450 of such stations being acquired at the expense of different international programs, private donors, as well as provincial and local administrations. In the recent years they have been included in a single radio locating system.

According to Terteryan, nearly 5100 anti-hail and at least 2 more radio locating stations are needed for covering the most risky farmlands in Armenia and Karabakh.

The Ministry budget doesn’t provide allocations for the new stations for 2015 but the government is trying to find operating decisions, the Deputy Minister said.
