YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday received Russian Energy Minister, chairman of CIS Electrical Energy Council Alexander Novak who arrived in Armenia for participation in the 47th meeting of the Council.

President Sargsyan noted importance of holding the meeting in Armenia which provides a good opportunity to discuss development of bilateral relations in energy sector, given that energy sector is one of important elements of Armenia-Russia strategic partnership.

Minister Novak, for his part, thanked the Armenian leader for hosting the meeting of the Council. He said a number of key issues, including simultaneous work of energy systems, system integration and exchange of experience, were discussed by the ministers.

The sides discussed the current stage and prospects for Armenia-Russia cooperation on gas, electric energy and atomic energy.
