Armenians all over the world must take joint measures for the acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide so that Turkey returns the ‘debt,’ Armine Karapet, Hayastan All Armenian Fund’s UK Branch Chairman told Armenian News – NEWS.am.
According to her, Turkey owes Armenia a sum of over $800 million. “Of course, it won’t be able to return the full sum, but we must raise our demands. It's necessary to continuously speak about the acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide and carry out activities in that direction. It’s rather difficult and will require quite a lot of expenses. I hope there will be people who will take care of those expenses,” Armine Karapet said.
As to the acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide by Great Britain, the benefactor said she had repeatedly addressed letters to the country’s authorities on that matter, condemning their steps.
