YEREVAN. – The analysts’ expectations from the economy of the Russian Federation (RF) are again pessimistic, and this situation has a big impact on the social and economic life of the Republic of Armenia (RA), reported Haykakan Zhamanak daily.

“The decline, which had started in the RF economy, ended in the month of March, and during that time, some optimistic expectations were formed. It was expected that the private remittances being sent from the RF to Armenia will start increasing, albeit slowly. But within a few days, the Russian ruble depreciated by about two percent, which was a result of the oil prices’ going down at almost the same pace.

“If these trends continue, our [i.e. Armenia’s] economy cannot escape its adverse effects; a second wave of crisis will begin [in the country],” wrote Haykakan Zhamanak.
