Armenian capital city Yerevan schoolchildren have donated several hundred books to soldiers.

On Thursday, May 28, the First Republic Day, the young students at School No. 135—which is adjunct to the Operations Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia—paid a visit to the military unit in Berd town.

The school, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year, is named after one of its graduates, Gagik Stepanyan, who had fallen in the Karabakh War. Six graduates of this school had died during the war.

The kids gave to the servicemen more than 450 fiction books which the schoolchildren had collected.

In addition, a notebook computer was donated to the military unit.

The soldiers, for their part, showed the children weapons and military equipment.

And after lunch at the military canteen, the kids gave a small concert for the soldiers.
