YEREVAN. – A new document between Armenia and the European Union will not only political, but an economic one, given certain restrictions within Armenia's membership to the Eurasian Economic Union, secretary of Heritage faction Tevan Poghosyan said.

According to him, Armenia registered some positive results during the Riga summit.

“EU remains committed to the flexible policy and a separate approach to each member state of the Eastern Partnership program. Taking into account Armenia's problems, the country got a mandate for the launch of new talks,” Poghosyan said during a media conference on Saturday.

The MP is hopeful that new Armenia-EU agreement will be signed by the end of this year. There is a whole document that has been negotiated, and if Armenian officials are pragmatic, it will be possible to remove some points containing restrictions in one or two months, Poghosyan noted.

As reported earlier, a final declaration has been adopted as a result of the fourth Eastern Partnership summit that was held in Riga on May 21-22.
