YEREVAN. - Early this morning the protesters arrested in Baghramyan Avenue have beeen released, Yerevan Deputy Chief of Police Valery Osipyan declared.

The protesters are again in Baghramyan Avenue demanding to release all the detainees.

After the 4-day sit-in, the deadline set by the ‘No to Plunder’ initiative for the government to reconsider its decision on price hike ended. The protesters thus moved in big crowds to Baghramyan Avenue, where the presidential headquarters are located. The protesters blocked their way, following which sit-in started. Early this morning the police managed to disperse the protest, arresting the activists and journalists.

The journalists of Hetq, Gala TV, Haykakan Zhamanak daily, news.am and panarmenian.net were taken to police departments. As a result of clashes, 18 people sought medical assistance in hospitals, 237 citizens having been arrested. Criminal case has been filed under Article 258(1) of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
