The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, addressed the Armenian people in his Facebook account, and in connection with the ongoing protests against the decision to raise the price of electricity in Armenia and the use of police force against the demonstrators.

“My precious Armenia, there were days when we were beaten and dispersed in the Krepostnaya Lane in [the Ukrainian capital city of] Kyiv, [and] they had collected our barricades. It seemed they had pulverized our hopes.

“(…) we[, however,] returned to the [Euro]Maidan [in Kyiv] with 8 people, [and] under the Ukrainian flag.

“We had brought with us a huge army thermos (…), now with a cold tea, to ours at Maidan, as a symbol, as our endeavor to not give in and be free.

“At the time, we were not taking there tea, but a tempered will of freedom,” Avakov specifically wrote.
