Russia hopes Armenian authorities and protestors will reach consensus, State Secretary, Deputy FM Grigory Karasin stated, TASS reports.
“We attentively watch the events going on in Armenia for the last days. We hope all this will not cross the line of law. We reckon on the common sense and wisdom of the Armenian leadership. According to our information, we can count on some compromise decision on the issues raised by the protestors,” he said.
“We hope everything will be decided to the comprehensive satisfaction of both the protestors and the authorities. We are waiting for news from Yerevan,” Karasin said.
Referring to the possibility of provocation from within, the Deputy FM said: “This must be proved. We will attentively examine what preceded it, but I wouldn’t make such snap judgments.”
