YEREVAN. - Protestors struggling against electricity price hike in Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue gave away roses to women and girls.

One of the activists announced that the attention of the whole world is now focused on Armenia, and lots of international media disseminate false news. “So let’s show the whole world that we do not give away truncheons and stones here, but gift roses to our mothers and sisters,” he said.

The activists also proposed roses to the police officers, but the latter refused to take them. Only Deputy Chief of Police Hunan Poghosyan took one rose, and then returned it, saying that he gifts the flower to any girl participating in the protest. He also urged not to give such presents to the police, otherwise they will qualify it as a provocation. “You can make a selfie by the police officers, but do not disturb our service,” Poghosyan said.

The protest in Baghramyan Avenue is going on at the moment.
