YEREVAN. - Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) discussed the energy security issue during its executive body session, Eduard Sharmazanov, RPA press secretary said following the session.

According to Sharmazanov, domestic policy and energy security issues were discussed. “The questions are important enough for Armenia’s authorities and the problem is not only 6-7 AMD. Armenian authorities will do their best to ensure the sustainability of our energy security. Opinions were voiced that energy security should be ‘healed.’ Naturally, none of us wants price hike. The problem is more global. The government has presented its opinion. The problem is not the abuse. Certainly no abuse is involved in those 7 drams,” Sharmazanov said.

According to him, everything should be done to solve the issue of energy security in Armenia. “We very much respect the peaceful protests of our citizens; all the processes must be peaceful. Today both the police and the citizens fulfill their functions,” he said, noting that they highly appreciate the actions of the police.

“Armenian authorities will do their best so that Armenia has the most sustainable energy security system possible, whose decisions will be clearer to the public,” Sharmazanov said.
