YEREVAN. – For the past two days, the Deputy Chief of Police Yerevan, Valeri Osipyan, is unable to establish contact with the service that collects garbage in the vicinity of Baghramyan Avenue in Armenia’s capital city.

Osipyan himself told the aforesaid to several of the activists at the boulevard, and who are holding a protest demanding the cancelation of the recent decision to raise the price of electricity in the country (PHOTOS).

The activists, however, were skeptical toward these words by the deputy police chief of Yerevan.

Osipyan, on the other hand, noted that the garbage collection service had complained that the demonstrators had collected the nearby waste containers and this, according to him, causes inconvenience for a large number of people.

In response, the activists asked whether they can hire a garbage truck with their own means, and whether the Police will fine this vehicle.

Osipyan responded that the truck cannot enter the area where the demonstration is held.

“In that case, let it approach the Traffic Police vehicles that have formed a barrier, [and] we’ll take the garbage [to it],” said an activist.

“If so, take it!” replied Valeri Osipyan.
