YEREVAN. - Several soldiers were also wounded during the skirmish in the direction of Nakhichevan on Armenian-Azerbaijani border on June 25-26.

Both of the wounded were contract soldiers. They are in Armenia’s Sisian city hospital, where they have been operated on, Spokesperson for Armenia’s Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to him, the adversary hadn’t violated the ceasefire regime in that section for about a year.  “We expected provocations, since the first European Games are finishing in Baku. The actions of the adversary will not remain unpunished,” Hovhannisyan said.  

Earlier, the Azerbaijanni side had violated the ceasefire, using weapons of different caliber. Armenian Armed Forces forced the adversary to stop the fire. During the skirmish, the contract soldier Armen Yepremyan died. Several soldiers from Azerbaijani side were also killed and wounded.
