A country that may join NATO in the near future is Montenegro, Russian media reported.
Kommersant newspaper said any other country is unlikely to join the block in the near future. The newspaper’s sources said Montenegro is “an ideal candidate”.
Montenegro is the only country in a non-NATO chain, since all its neighbors are member of the Alliance, a source in country’s government said.
In addition, the source claims that NATO membership is the most reliable guarantee for foreign investors.
