YEREVAN. – The legislators of the Republic of Armenia (RA) are being “detained,” by a special order, to the National Assembly (NA) special session which the government will convene on Thursday, reported Zhoghovurd daily.

“Zhoghovurd has learned that RA NA President Galust Sahakyan and RPA [i.e. the ruling Republican Party of Armenia] NA Faction Head Vahram Baghdasaryan are calling [by telephone] the RAP MPs for [the past] two days, and requiring [them] to leave their vacation, being spent in various countries, and to immediately return to Armenia participate in the [NA] session the government has called.

“The [RPA] deputies are compelled to yield to the ‘pressures,’ since the executive [branch of power in Armenia] intends to ratify a loan agreement,” reported Zhoghovurd.
