YEREVAN. – Not a penny, not a luma from the amount provided by the Russian Federation as a state export credit, can be spent for other purposes, Deputy Defense Minister Ara Nazaryan said in parliament on Thursday.

His remark came in response to the question by the ANC group MP Levon Zurabyan on whether the amount will be spent on subsidies for increase in electricity prices that the government promised to absorb.

“The amount is provided exclusively for funding supplies of the weaponry produced by Russian companies,” he assured.

In turn, Zurabyan said he does not trust the authorities and demanded guarantees.

“It is your right not to trust us. There is a list of future purchases,” the official said.

Meanwhile, President of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan said the list has been distributed among the MPs and Mr. Zurabyan can read it.
