YEREVAN. – An international paragliding competition will be held in Armenia for the first time.
Vice President of the Paragliding Federation of Armenia, Armen Sargsyan, stated, at a press conference on Thursday, that the event will start on Sunday in Aparan city and, weather permitting, it will continue until around July 11. But if the weather is bad in Aparan, the competition will be relocated to either Hatis village or Vedi town.
Around one hundred paragliders from Europe, US, Russia, Mongolia, Turkey, and Iran will arrive in Armenia for this competition.
“Armenia—with its climate, number of sunny days, and [geographical] relief—is a very suitable country to accept such a competition,” stated Sargsyan.
