YEREVAN. – The only major incident during the Yerevan protests was registered on June 23 when police dispersed protesters, Armenia's Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan said.

The human rights defender is hopeful that the investigation will be strict and unbiased.

“I think the police officers who cast shadow on atmosphere of tolerance will be found. As for the rest, we have positive assessment of the police actions. They displayed tolerance during all these days despite separate incidents. We appreciate and welcome the peaceful conduct without incidents on both sides,” Andreasyan told reporters.

Police officers should wear uniform while being on duty, he added.
