Residents of Armenia’s Syunik province along with guests tasted mulberry and mulberry vodka during the traditional Mulberry Festival held in the province’s Goris city today.

Guests from different provinces of Armenia and abroad attended the festival, which has been held for already the second year, as reported by Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.  

Those who arrived in Syunik in the morning to attend the festival, took part in the mulberry harvesting ceremony and process of vodka preparation, as well as tasted Goris mulberry vodka. Afterwards, the guests got familiar with the dishes of Syunik province urban and rural communities. Syunik residents, who had arrived from the communities, presented fruits in different pavilions.  

The festival was held by Municipality of Goris. City Mayor Vachagan Adunts noted in his speech that they will try to make the festival annual.

“This festival will enable Goris to present itself to the guests and make them familiar with its best traditions,” he said.

The festival was accompanied by Armenian folk music and dance, showcase of national costumes and award-giving ceremony.
