YEREVAN. - The police will not allow the sit-in participants in Baghramyan Avenue to move the rubbish bins turned into barricades one step forward every day, Yerevan Deputy Chief of Police Valery Osipyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am in Baghramyan Avenue today.
“I don’t think they will move the rubbish bins forward. If they can achieve something by one step, we will add ten more from our side, but this will prove useless. And it’s logical that thereby they are creating a situation to spark clashes, and show the society there is a clash, calling them to Baghramyan Avenue,” Osipyan said declining to elaborate on the measures of the police to be taken in that case.
Earlier, Sanasaryan read a statement in which he mentioned they will start the “One step forward” action in case their demands aren’t met. “These rubbish bins which have turned to barricades serve as a symbol to us. And if we get no response to at least one of our demands, we will every new day at 21.00 move the bins a step forward towards Baghramyan Avenue,” he said.
