YEREVAN. – The “Improving Access to Justice for Children in Armenia” program has kicked off Tuesday in capital city Yerevan.

The program is implemented jointly with the Ministry of Justice of Armenia, and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Armenia.

The program comprises the conducting of an international expertise on law from the viewpoint of children’s rights and access to justice; the development of an action plan to set up an integrated information system for juvenile justice; and capacity building of the staff that deals with children that have problems with the law and are witnesses and victims.

Minister of Justice of Armenia, Hovhannes Manukyan, and representative of the UNICEF in Armenia, Manja Henriette Ahrens, delivered remarks at the event announcing the launch of this program.
