YEREVAN. - It’s already the second day the sit-in against electricity tariff hike has been continuing in Yerevan’s Liberty Square. As reported by Armenian News - NEWS.am  correspondent, the square is not crowded at the moment.

Davit Sansaryan, a member of the opposition Barev Yerevan faction at Yerevan's Council of Elders, is the only one on hunger strike today in Liberty Square. According to him, the small number of people is conditioned by the fact that everyone is waiting for Thursday’s assembly.

“People will respond on Thursday and we’ll together decide on our steps. Because a day has been appointed, people will be here at 19:00, Thursday. This is procedural that’s why the number of people is small,” he said.

According to Sanasaryan, they must achieve the resignation of the president step by step.

Armenian police dispersed Monday the protestors, who had blocked Yerevan’s central Baghramyan Avenue for two weeks. The protestors later gathered in Liberty Square, from where they wanted to start a march through the city, but the police banned the march. Many of the protestors stayed overnight in Liberty Square.
