YEREVAN. – The providing of meteorological data is a paid service in Armenia.
The government has specified this provision by legislation at Thursday’s Cabinet session.
The written explanation, which is attached to the respective government decision, notes that the Zvartnots Aviameteorological Centre CJSC provides meteorological service for civil aviation in Armenia. And these paid services are the main financial sources of this enterprise.
Nonetheless, the paid nature of these services is not written clearly enough, and this has enabled the airlines to evade making payments for these services.
“The providing of such information is [a] paid [service], and it is regulated by contractual basis,” reads the government decision.
