YEREVAN. – Armenia continues talks with possible investors in the construction of a new unit of the Armenian NPP, PM Hovik Abrahamyan said during presentation of the ways of development of Armenia's energy system till 2036.

He recalled that the country has extended the work of the current second unit of the Armenian NPP to maintain the level of energy safety. An agreement with Russia for a loan of $270 million and a grant of $30 million for extending operation of the unit has been reached and ratified by the parliament, he recalled.

The repair works will start in 2017 which will allows to extend operations till 2026.

Armenian NPP presently produces around 31-23% of electricity.
