US President Barack Obama and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephonic conversation.

During the talk they agreed to “stem the flow of foreign fighters [into Turkey] and secure Turkey’s border with Syria,” the White House said in a statement, reported Reuters news agency.

Obama also confirmed the future US plans to ensure Turkey’s national security, reported Gazeta.

In addition, the presidents of the two countries agreed to continue close cooperation in several regional matters.
