Armenia President attends medical facility opening in town bordering Azerbaijan

A medical center with the latest technology will now function in Berd town—which borders Azerbaijan—in Armenia’s Tavush Province.

President Serzh Sargsyan and Minister of Health Armen Muradyan attended the official opening of this medical facility.

“Here is already the fourth [medical] center [in the province] that can ensure secondary medical treatment,” said Muradyan at the event.

He added that an expert will inspect the quality of medical work to be conducted at this facility.

Medical center director Aram Harutyunyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that this facility needs specialists, and the respective list was sent to the Ministry of Health.

The construction work at the medical center of Berd was carried out with funding by the World Bank.

The new medical facility has two emergency rooms, and an ambulance service.
