YEREVAN. - The purpose of the constitutional reforms is switching to а system of single-party dictatorship, Armenia’s “Heritage” faction Deputy Head Armen Martirosyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am today at the public discussion held by Paruyr Hayrikyan, leader of Armenia’s Union for National Self-Determination.
“Unfortunately, Armenian has never had a Constitution tailored to the people; it has always been tailored to the leadership in power,” Martirosyan said.
According to him, the process of constitutional changes should be urgently stopped.
“Non-legitimate authorities have no right to carry out constitutional reforms. They are doing more harm than good,” Martirosyan said.
Armen Martirosyan also said that the parliamentary and non-parliamentary forces should rally against the reforms and contribute to radical changes right up to the change of power.
The public discussion held by Paruyr Hayrikyan, leader of Armenia’s Union for National Self-Determination, is underway at the moment.
