The Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Azerbaijan has bitterly responded to the recent statement by the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Seyran Ohanyan.

As reported earlier, Ohanyan had urged the Azerbaijani authorities to avoid military rhetoric.

The minister, speaking to reporters, had said the adversary should avoid making speculations. Instead of making constructive moves, they are trying “to leave no stone in Armenia,” he had said referring to the recent statements by the Azerbaijani leadership.

By raising tension on the Line of Contact, the Azerbaijani side is trying to create favorable conditions for itself, Ohanyan had said.

In response, the Azerbaijan MOD issued a resentment-mixed statement.

“We have to remind Seyran Ohanyan about the strength of the Azerbaijani soldier,” the statement specifically reads. “Moreover, at the closest times.”

The Azerbaijani media speculate that this statement is nothing but an “announcement” of an imminent military operation.
