A protest is held in the Moldovan capital city of Chișinău, and against the decision to raise the electricity and natural gas tariffs in the country.

The demonstrators have pitched a tent camp in Downtown Chișinău, outside the home of Vladimir “Vlad” Plahotniuc, Vice President of the ruling Democratic Party of Moldova.

“The protest demonstration is not held under the banner of any political party,” stated ex-MP Grigory Petrenko, reported TASS news agency of Russia. “It is open to all citizens who are outraged by the actions of oligarchs.

“We will not leave until the decision to raise tariffs is canceled.”

The decision to raise the electricity and natural gas tariffs in Moldova was grounded on the devaluation of the local currency.
