The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia received a report on Saturday at 12:10pm.

Accordingly, K. S. (born in 2013), a resident of Verin Dvin village in the Ararat Province, had gone missing at around 10am.

A fire and rescue squad as well as a special water rescue team were dispatched to the scene.

It was found out that the two-year-old boy had fallen into and drowned in the Artashat canal at the aforesaid village.

Verin Dvin prefect Lyudmila Petrova told the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The mother had gone to the kitchen in the morning to make food, [and] the child had gone out and gotten lost,” said the village mayor. “A few hours later, they had found him in the canal, which is only 20 meters away from the house.”
