YEREVAN. – President of the National Assembly (NA), Galust Sahakyan, on Monday received Belarusian Ambassador Stepan Sukharenko, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

The NA speaker highly assessed Ambassador Sukhorenko’s activities noting that, during his tenure, Armenian-Belarusian relations were of direct nature, and friendly and warm relations were formed between the parliaments of the two countries. Sahakyan noted that cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries should be strengthened at international platforms.

The NA leader also wished the Belarusian diplomat success in his future activities, and expressed the hope that he will always remain a friend of the Armenian people.

Stepan Sukhorenko, for his part, thanked the President of the National Assembly for the constant assistance during his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

The ambassador stated that cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries is anchored in the long-lasting friendship between the Belarusian and Armenian peoples.

Sukhorenko highlighted the work of the friendship groups functioning in the parliaments of the two countries.

He also expressed the hope that the membership of Belarus and Armenia to the Eurasian Economic Union will give new impetus to collaboration in a variety of domains.
